Nursery Progress, Part 3

Exploding TARDIS!

The curtains are finally up! I'm so happy with them. The fabric is Echino and were inspired by the nursery curtains from Girls Gone Child, even though I had no idea at first that her fabric was Echino too! I suppose it's just the perfect choice for a baby's room. I was pretty nervous about doing such a big project with tons of pricey fabric, but I used this tutorial for tabbed panels and it really couldn't have been easier.  The trickiest part was that I ended up having to add a  7" vertical strip and an extra half yard to the bottom of each curtain because my measurements were off and they were too short and narrow (jeez, self), but you can't really tell unless you're looking for it so it's no big deal. This room is soclose to being finished, ahh! I'll make a proper post with real (non-instagram) photos when everything is done. I need to make a few fitted crib sheets, get a changing pad cover and trash can/liners for cloth diapering, and organize the closet. As soon as I finish everything room-related I need to really crack down on baby knitting, because there are tons of things I want to make!

  1. I adore the fabric you used for the curtains - they look great! I'm in the throes of putting together a nursery for my baby girl (due in September). It's been so much fun putting personal, crafty touches on everything!

    1. LOVE! That poster is going to stick around forever, I can imagine it going in a big kids' room later or moving into the living room! That and our "To Victory!" Dalek poster are two of my favorite things in the house.

  4. It looks great! I am so jealous of you being able to decorate, we are still planning on moving house first, so no nursery plans for me!

    1. It's SO hard when you're in that in-between place! There's still a big chance that we'll be moving again next spring (permanently this time) so I'll just have to transfer everything over, haha. You're going to have so much fun with it though! And you can go crazy with ideas and planning now!
