A Successful Trip

The thrifting road trip was a success! We picked up lots of random bits and bobs and scored a few good baby-related things, like this awesome pony:

Untitled

Apparently he's called The Wonder Pony, from the '50s or '60s. We named him Bill. He's in great condition and was only $25!

Untitled
Vintage nightstand for the nursery, a magazine rack that I'll use to hold children's books, a few Beatrix Potter books, a little wooden rabbit toy, and storage baskets.

Untitled
Vintage fondue pot! I used to have one just like it, but gave it away when we moved because I never had any of the accessories. This one has everything, and the lady even threw in a pack of those cooking fuel cans to go with it.

Untitled
A wooden piggy and two new sets of vintage salt & pepper shakers.

Untitled
Vintage amber pitcher.

Untitled
Heart-shaped mini waffle iron!

Untitled
This hangs above the kitchen sink.

We did cheat a little and went to a few vintage/flea markets as well as thrift shops, because I just can't resist. I'm still really happy with everything we found!

    1. Thank you! :D

I am going NUTS waiting to start the nursery! Next week I'm going to clear out the room and we'll get the ball rolling from there. I'm going to try to pace myself so that I don't do it all in a flurry very early on, haha.

  2. You got that stained glass window? SO jealous. And how cool is it going to be having your child (in a few years) able to love and play with that horse!

    1. YES! I seriously jumped on it just because it was a little stained glass picture, I'm such a sucker for those and I've never actually came across one.

I'm so excited about the horse! I had one as a kid and I love that I found an old one somewhat like it. :)

  3. Beatrix Potter! It's funny how some little things are so widely known: I'm from Belgium and my mother used to read these (later she would let me listen to a tape with the stories ^^), some of them had quite an impact on me :p
    Congratulations btw!

    1. Awww, that's so awesome! I loved her too as a kid. We grabbed The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher and a Peter Rabbit pop-up book (and then a pretty edition of The Velveteen Rabbit, which isn't BP obviously but I love it so much, even though I have a few different versions already).

    2. The Velveteen Rabbit is such a good pick. I am saving my version for my future babies. Congrats on the boy and the decorations and toys that you found are awesome. I love the little elephants & mice!
