Serpensortia

16 February 2011

These tights! I know! I've had them forever and only worn them about twice, I think. No idea why I haven't worn them in practically every outfit ever. I love the dusty pink and matte turquoise together.

Yesterday we went to the Rattlesnake Museum, which was much more awesome/slightly terrifying than I thought it would be. I don't mind most snakes, but rattlesnakes are horrifying oh my god. Their faces are.. not nice faces to have, and one JUMPED at me. He was in a tank, but still. Not cool, snake. No. We went mainly to buy one of those rattlesnake mugs that Craig Ferguson has on his show, because I love him and it was originally a gift from someone who went to this museum in Albuquerque. And look: (!)

Rattlesnake mug!

Mug acquired! The rest of the photos from the actual museum are over here, if you're curious; I didn't want to post snake pictures all over my blog and give a few panic attacks to people who have phobias! There are a couple of shots of a black widow and tarantula, so Ron Weasleys of the world beware.

On the way home there was a coyote! Apparently it was dangerous creature day. We were so interested in him, and I whipped out my camera and started photographing him like a crazy person, and I swear all he did was look slightly wary and cross the road, like we were a couple of creepers in a van trying to kidnap him. He took his time, too.

  6. Ah, the desert! I miss it so much now--though when I first moved to Tucson, I never thought I'd like it at all! Have you been to Santa Fe? Best dinner of my life at Pasquale's in downtown.. And Jemez is full of lovely hot springs and wineries.
How are you enjoying your new desert home?

  8. Thanks guys! <3

HM: It's in Old Town! And it was pretty terrifying, haha. I usually like snakes but NOT RATTLESNAKES APPARENTLY. I will never forget the one that jumped/rattled at me, oh my god.

Gina: I never thought I would like it at all! I had never given any thought to the desert, besides "too hot, do not want." I'm so surprised at how much I love it here. We haven't been to Santa Fe or Jemez yet but plan on going to both before we leave! I'll definitely check out Pasquale's. :)
