There is no acceptable excuse for my lack of blogging lately, but the laziness of the heat combined with my recent hair drama have been good enough reasons for me. I finally cut out all of the black but then it was too short; next I decided to lighten it a little myself, failed massively, and had to hastily grab some corrective color from Sally's. I'm such a dweeb! I had plans to go blonde soon (with the help of a pro!) but I've abandoned such ambitions because I'm tired of my hair being a crazy, confused mess. I longed for the days when my hair was one color and actually looked nice with my skin tone, so I went dark again. It totally looks black right now but isn't, honestly! Sigh. I feel much better having dark hair again-- I think I was meant to have this color, even if it isn't exactly what grows out of my head.

When I first found this dress I assumed I would fill it up with vintage girl scout badges, but I never did. Instead I've created a little area with lots of my DIY vintage charm pins.

Vintage girl scout dress
DIY vintage charm pins
Sock Dreams socks
Seychelles heels
Wooden rose bracelet
Also, we've had a new puppy adoption in the works for a while and he finally came home a few days ago! Please meet Georgie Bat, the Italian Greyhound. We call him George and he is a crazy energy ball. Thankfully Weetzie seems to approve!

How is your summer going so far?

PUPPIES! and oh man i love those socks!
ReplyDeletemy summer's a little slow and humid as hell, but I'm trying to appreciate the slow time
ReplyDeletelove that outfit, who knew a girlscout uniform could be so chic!
I love Italian Greyhounds!! I can't believe you got one. Yay! I can't wait to see lots of pictures of them together. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd the girlscout dress is awesome! Also glad you've come to terms with what you want regarding your hair. :)
A gorgeous default dress no less. Love the brooches and pins!

Those pins are just perfect.
ReplyDeleteI love the dress so much, and I love your hair color! I have the same problem with my hair. I did chunky highlights for a long time and now it is pretty much natural but I'm dying to do something different. I think your skin color is amazing with the color you have now! I was never a girl scout, just a brownie, but recently found lots of brownie badges and pins if you are interested :) They are circa 1984. Seriously, lmk and they are in the mail. I'm trying to unload a little so I'm not featured in the Hoarding show.
ReplyDeletep.s. My word verification was just "poodso". Thought I'd mention it LOL
This is a really great dress, and I love how you've got the hand badge thumbs down instead of thumbs up!
ReplyDeletePretty dress :)
ReplyDeleteoh george is so so so cute! is he still a puppy or will he stay that small and cute?
ReplyDeleteI can sympathize with the hair situation...Ive finally come to terms to let it all grow out...and I havent had a haircut in over a year! its really hard to not want to chop it all off some times!
ReplyDeleteps. LOVE the new doggie!! I typically dislike most dogs but I have a very weak spot for italian greyhounds because they look like little deers
Love this girl scout dress! And I absolutely adore your hair- I think it looks great :)
ReplyDeleteAlso love that your dogs are named Weetzie and Georgie Bat! Francesca Lia Block is one of my favourite authors! I love the Weetzie Bat book so much :)

Oh my goodness your new puppy is way too cute! You are going to love him so much!
ReplyDeleteI love the little pins you pinned on your dress, such a great idea.
Thanks so much guys! <3
ReplyDeleteHaley: Yay puppies!!
tess: It's so humid over here too. Thankfully we just had a big storm that cooled off everything, but ugh in general the weather is miserable. And thank you!
Kat: Aww YAY of course I'm going to take tons of pictures (and video)! They are finally starting to play together and it's adorable. And haha I know right, the whole thing has been so dramatic!
Megan: Ahhh thanks so much! :) I just get bored so easily with hair, I used to change it every few months, so having one hairstyle for two years and then suddenly changing it has thrown me off a bit, even though I love it short. Definitely about to contact you about the brownie badges! I was never a girl scout or brownie or anything because you had to actually do things with people, haha. But I liked the uniforms. And cookies.
broom people: Hahaha I'm just terribly pessimistic like that!
Helen: He's just a teensy puppy! He'll get a little bigger--about Weetzie's size or a bit larger-- but will still stay small. He's such a tiny little man right now though.
Eli: I don't think I could ever grow mine out! I really would like to, but I just don't know if I could stand it. You're much stronger than me! And yay thank you, he does look like a little deer! Especially with his long legs and how he runs.
Kara: Thank you so much! <3 Me too, I love her to death, and her books have such great names.
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! he is sososososo cute!
ReplyDeleteI love your dress too, and your hair looks great.
aww u look so pretty in the dress.
ReplyDeleteAnd the dog,yum!
Congratulations! He is precious.
