Top, blazer, and clock pin: thrifted skirt & flats: H&M
Has it really been 70somethingish degrees around here? Is this real life?? I wore this wool blazer yesterday in a comfortable, non sweating to death sort of way. I think it's going to heat up once more and then be over for the year. Don't tease me, weather, I can't take it.
This whole outfit makes me so happy. I recently thrifted the blazer after searching for a little wool one forever. I have a poly one but never wear it, the wool feels more.. official, somehow. The frilly blouse was recently thrifted as well. I never remember to look for tops, so I felt rather accomplished with this!
The little clock charm was found a couple of years ago in my favorite Wilmington thrift shop. It's a working clock that needs to be wound every now and then, and the back of it shows the gears which I adore. I always wear it gear side out.
Lately I've been reading quite a bit (I finally got out of my reading slump-- although infinite summer is still going strong!) and trying to get super organized for school. I'm particularly excited for my Young Adult class because we get to read lots of YA lit. I'm easy to please.

Awesome awesome JAWESOME outfit!!! Srsly, I'm giddy over this, it's sooooo gooooodddd.
ReplyDeleteI think I want to wear something exactly like this.
And what an amazing find that clock pin is! You are so lucky to have every piece in this outfit fit so nicely together.
I'm taking a Tweens Lit (which is considered YA lit but they just specified it some more) class and am so excited for the books I get to read! YA lit classes are my favorites to partake in at library school.
You look phenomenal. I love every look you do, but especially this one.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, the captcha for this was "satan" haha.
I LOVE this silhouette and the tiny splash of colour but most of all the clock charm, omg *_*. I'm also happy it's cooling off even though I'm still scared it'll be scorching hot in just a few days probably (hopefully not though). I miss wearing layers so much XD
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is so rad! I love how you call it "schoolboyish" because it really is schoolboy-ish. Sort of a boarding school feminine look? I like it. A lot.
ReplyDeleteLovely outfit. I love that brooch!
ReplyDeleteAnd I completely hear you, I want the weather to stop jerking us around. Is it summer or fall, it needs to make up it's mind.
you are beyond adorable!
ReplyDeleteMe gusta!!
ReplyDeleteIt was 103 here the other day, and much cooler than the other surrounding areas @_@
that outfil is so great.. makes you look really beautiful...
ReplyDeleteOh my! This is one of the cutest outfits I've seen! :o)
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable! Do you have any tips on Wilmington thrifting, I haven't had any big scores in ages, sadly.

I love the outfit! so awesome! I always forget to look for tops too.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, school uniform inspired looks. My weakness. Is it because I never got to wear one myself in school? Love the clock!
ReplyDeletei'm insanely jealous of your outfit. especially the edwardian school mum watch/brooch, the red polkas are perfect.
ReplyDeletereally great outfit! i love the shape of the outfit too and the colours. and that brooch. wow. i'm in a bit of a reading slump at the moment, since finishing my english degree in may i've read a shameful amount of books! it's probably still more than most people but compared to my old routine of a book a week..
ReplyDeleteFantastic outfit! Both boyish and girlie at the same time, very cute. And it'd be interesting to hear what you end up reading for your class - what are the Young Adult novels judged worthy of study...?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much everyone! ♥
ReplyDeleteDiane: Yaaaay thank you!! I think you would look awesome in something like this, much better than me since you have that amazing androgyny going on. Tween lit sounds so fun! I took a YA class in my undergrad and it was the best thing. I don't know why I love it so much-- probably because I never really got into it as a teenager, and now there are so many great books to choose from. We get to read Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book!
Mermaid: Thank you darling! <3 Ahaha I love weirdo captchas.
Eline: It's been hot the last few days but I'm optimistic! I think it's going away and then I can finally get dressed again.
Isabel: Thank you! <3 It really is, I love the boyishness of the little jacket.
Misha: Me either, but I've always loved them!
Helen: That is exactly what happened to me! Except I graduated May 2008 so my reading slump has lasted a year, yiiiiikes. I think I'm out of it now though, I guess I just needed a break! I was still reading, just not nearly as much as normal.
YA lit was one of my faves too! I took it three different times for three different degrees- enjoyed every bit. Love the blazer with the feminine skirt. You look lovely!
