Yes I just got back from Florida and am wearing Minnie ears, no I didn't go to Disney! I've actually never been to Disney, but hopefully that will be remedied next year when the Harry Potter theme park opens. I am a giant geek and love HP conferences, and the one next year (Infinitus) is coinciding with the park opening. I just hope I'll be in a position that I'm able to go, since it'll be the summer after graduation and Hectic Life Things might get in the way. But anyway... Minnie headband, yay!

Right now I'm obsessed with headbands, which is kind of a big deal because I'm usually too paranoid to wear anything on my head. But I've finally realized that it's an easy way to fix hair-boredom, so I bought a ton during my trip and have been happily wearing them.
Gala Darling recently made a post about making your own headbands (she shares my intense Marie Antoinette hair love!) by just hot-gluing all manner of things onto a plain headband. This is so appealing to me that I can't even stand it. And of course I saw the Minnie headband in the store and immediately thought of how she wore those pink sparkly ears for a while! Except hers are the real kind from Disney and not a kid's headband.
That sparkly disco bracelet is my new favorite thing. I'm convinced it goes with everything, although that's probably very untrue.
If anyone is in the Tallahassee area I highly suggest paying a visit to The Other Side vintage shop! They had piles and piles of purses, jewelry, knick-knacks, art, etc. Some things were a bit too pricey, but I can forgive them because of how fun it was to look through everything. I didn't buy any bags, though-- there's something about seeing tons of them together that takes the fun out of it! It's much more exciting to find something excellent hidden in a thrift shop somewhere (or on Etsy, where they're usually much better priced). I did pick up a couple of bags from other places, though:

First of all, I love your skirt. I've been on the hunt for shorter, high-waisted skirts for summer. Yours rocks:) Second, that wooden bag is to die for!
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous, I'm from south Florida and moved away three years ago. I can't wait to go back in June and hit up some wacky 'antique' shops and thrift stores with my sister. Great finds!
i love your minnie ears, they look so cute on you! but i dare not wear them because i am such a regular at the park (we have passes) so i would look like a nutty lady.
ReplyDeleteyour baubles are so precious! glad you had and you made it back safe!
The second photo is so adorable that I may just explode into tiny, envious bits and pieces! I also really love your Audrey shirt and that spider ring =D!
ReplyDeleteOmg, I just died of cuteness *_*
ReplyDeletehehehehe
ReplyDeletehead bands are pretty awsome.
That wood bag is priceless, love it!
I'm in Tampa, so while Tallahasse is still a bit of a trek, I may find some excuse to get up there and check out that vintage shop. Looks like you found some great stuff there.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I love those Minnie Ears on you, they suit you so well!!! I had Mickey Ears as a kid, that was before they made the Minnie ones I think??
ReplyDeleteNow I want some head bands! I might see you there! I'm thinking about going!
ReplyDeletep.s. added you to the blogroll today. :-)
ReplyDeleteaww the print of that skirt is so cute
ReplyDeletethe colours of those two bags together is just lovely. what excellent taste you have.

Gaaah oh how I wish headbands looked better in my hair! Those ears win at life :D
ReplyDeleteYou look so adorable! Florida next year sounds so exciting--now I want to go. Also, those bags rock. Especially the blue one.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much guys!!
ReplyDeleteKelley: I was looking for a skirt like this too, and then it just kind of popped up! I love when that happens. And thank you! The wooden bag splits in half when it opens, which is just neat but also kind of dangerous (as I learned recently, haha).
Diana: Aww thank you!! Haha yeah, I suppose I wouldn't wear them if I went there often, but since I haven't been I feel the need to show my enthusiasm somehow!
Penelope: Ahhh thank you so much, darling lady!! ^.^
Eline: Haha thank you! :D :D
M: I wish I had discovered their awesomeness sooner, haha!
Diana: It's really good for jewelry, bags, and random interesting figurines/trinkets/house things, etc., but the clothes are way too pricey and I didn't really see anything great. But yay for the accessories!
Eyeliah: Ahh thank you for both things!! ^.^ My husband apparently has his actual childhood Mickey ears at his parent's house, and I'm determined to find and steal them!
Leah: Aww thank you a ton! :D It's been awesome-- I start my summer internship in a few weeks and my last year begins this fall, ahh!
losile: Oh gosh that's how I felt at first too, and now I can't stop wearing them!
The Clothes Horse: Thanks so much!! ^.^ Oh it's going to be so awesome, I'm already excited for it!
Oh my god, the ears are too cute for words and you are rocking them! Love the skirt too :)
ReplyDeletethe bag is so beautifully intruiging!!
